  • Thursday 6:00-8:00pm – Welcome BBQ at the Capital Country Holiday Village, ASR HQ, all entrants welcome. If you arrive after 8pm (but not too late), there will still be food and BBQ’s available so we can quite easily cook up some food for you. There will be sausages, steaks, salads etc.
  • (Good) Friday – 6:00-8:00am – breakfast at ASR HQ. After breakfast there will be an opportunity to participate in the observation run which is open to anyone who wants to take part. Good Friday dinner will start at 6:00pm and will be fish & chips with salad, or pasta.
  • Saturday – 6:00-8:00am – breakfast at ASR HQ. The Show ‘n Shine is being held on the Lawns of Old Parliament House, off Parkes Place, Parkes (see map below). There are plenty of shady trees to sit under and it is close to Questacon, the National Library, High Court, Old & new Parliament House, and the National Portrait Gallery. Lunch will be available at the show venue, and dinner will be back at the HQ starting at 6:00pm.
  • (Easter) Sunday – 6:00-8:00am at ASR HQ. The driving events will be held at the Transport Industries Skills Centre on Sutton Rd just outside of Queanbeyan (see map below). Events will be: slalom, precision driving, and spear-a-spud. We will also be able to use their skid pan for those entrants that want to give their cars bit of a run.
  • The ASR Presentation Dinner will be held at the ASR HQ on Sunday night starting at 6:30pm. Dress is neat casual.
  • Easter Monday / ANZAC Day – We have booked a bus for people wishing to attend the ANZAC Dawn Service while in Canberra. It will be leaving the ASR HQ at approx 4:30am to get people into the War Memorial by 5:00am. We will need to have numbers of people who want to attend so that we can get a suitable size bus. We will be reminding everyone on the Saturday night to make sure they set their alarm clocks!
  • A BBQ farewell breakfast will be the final get-together on Monday morning.

 Observation Run – Friday morning

  • The Observation Run will be based from the HQ and head out around some of the major tourist sites around North Canberra. The question / answer sheets are to be returned to the ASR HQ for checking. The run can be done at any time and as fast or slow as you like.

 Show ‘n Shine – Saturday

  • As noted above, the Show ‘n Shine will be held on the lawns in front of Old Parliament House. We will be providing lunch at the show, however there is a coffee shop at the site and also at some of the tourist buildings close by (Questacon etc). There are toilets at the site. We are planning to display vehicles grouped in body style groups ie. Sedans, wagons, etc. and we will let you know the layout beforehand. Setup is from 7:30am to 9:00am.

 Driving events – Sunday

  • The driving events on Sunday are at the Transport Industries Skills Centre on Sutton Rd just outside of Queanbeyan. We will be requiring all driving events participants to sign a waiver and a letter confirming that their vehicle has current registration and applicable insurances – a letter from the driving events coordinator is attached below.
  • Helmets are not compulsory but we recommend if you have a helmet, bring it along and put it on.

ANZAC Day dawn service – Monday

  • We have booked a bus to take people into the Australian War Memorial for the ANZAC Day Dawn Service. It will be leaving the ASR HQ at approx 4:30am on Monday morning. If you wish to go to the service, please let Mark know on mark.odonohue@aph.gov.au or 0413 970 466 so we can arrange an appropriate size bus. We need to know how many people are going by Tuesday 19th April. After the service is finished, people will return to the ASR HQ for the farewell breakfast.

 Delegates meeting

  • The ASR delegates meeting is normally held sometime on Monday morning before entrants head for home. Because of the dawn service on Monday, we will talk to the club ASR delegates and see if they still want the meeting on the Monday or some other time over the weekend. All delegates will be informed of the location and time of the meeting when it is confirmed.

Meals / alcohol

  • All entrants (and anyone else who has pre-paid) will receive a lanyard with their entrant / ID details. This lanyard will enable you to get your meals – do not lose it or you might get very hungry – no lanyard with ID card, no meals.
  • All meals apart from Friday’s lunch will be provided. If you wish to drink alcohol, it is not available from the HQ but can be purchased from Watson or Dickson shops which are not too far away. HOWEVER, if you do have a drink or two, the roads of the HQ are public roads and as such, if the ACT Police show up, you can be breath tested and charged if you are over the limit. So, be responsible and do not drink & drive, one or the other is okay. There will be some bottles of wine provided at the Presentation Dinner but any other alcohol will need to be BYO.
  • Anyone who informed us that they have special dietary requirements, your meals will be kept separate, let us know at registration and we will let you know how to go about asking for your special meal/s.
  • The only meal not provided for as part of the ASR is Friday lunch. People might want to get something to eat while they are out on the Observation Run.

 Children’s activities

  • The Holiday Village has great things to keep the kids happy during your stay. They have a pool (although it may be getting a bit cool come late April), tennis court, a giant jumping pillow, and playgrounds.
  • On Easter Sunday morning before we head off to the driving events, we will be having an Easter egg hunt for children up to 12 years old. Please let us know beforehand if your child cannot have regular chocolate Easter eggs and we will look at providing something it its place.
  • We will also be having a colouring in competition for children, with prizes in a couple of different age groups.

 General care around HQ

  • While the owners of the Holiday Village are happy for people to drive around the parks roads carefully, there is to be no cruising after 11:00pm, and no tuning/tinkering of engines after 8:00pm. Also, be aware that there are kangaroos that will be on roads in and around the HQ.

General information
We have been contacted by an entrant who has some spare accommodation at the Holiday village. The cost is approximately $60 per night and if you would like more information, please contact Bob Hurrell on 0400 202 813.

 Items for sale
We have ordered extra items (t-shirts etc) for sale over the weekend. All entrants will receive these items as part of the entrant’s fee but in case you want to buy an extra shirt or something else, they will be available.

EJ/EH Holden Car Clubs of Australia

This letter is to inform everyone that is involved in the All State Run, that a requirement to use the driving facility is that all vehicles
must currently be fully registered and insured.

All EJ / EH Holden car clubs in Australia should be advising their members that there are guidelines to registering modified vehicles, All states have there own requirements that should be adhered to.

All modifications should be addressed in an engineers report or a registration certificate if the modifications were done prior to the implementation or requirements for engineering.

Without this report and each individual states roadworthy inspection certificate, your vehicle is not covered by insurance and is not legally registered.

The All State Run promotes a safe, family orientated event that has been changing for the better over the past 32yrs.

The driving events have also progressed. The biggest problem with any motor sport is the cost of insurance to hold these events and as everyone is well aware to go to court or coroners inquiry due to an accident or at worst death or injury due to negligence. This is why the onus is placed back onto the driver of the motor vehicle.

This is the reason for requesting that only full roadworthy and insured vehicles participate in the ASR driving events and that we will be requiring all participants in the driving events to complete and sign a disclaimer.

Regards,
Steve Mowat
ASR Driving Events Coordinator
